Before joining the firm, she was a Trial Attorney at the Public Integrity Section of the United States Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, where she investigated and prosecuted corruption and fraud cases in federal districts around the country. Monique has extensive experience investigating, trying, and defending on appeal matters involving violations of federal laws, including conspiracy, bribery, extortion, fraud, honest services fraud, gratuities, obstruction of justice, and the Federal Election Campaign Act.
Monique’s litigation work with the Justice Department included over a dozen bench and jury trials, an oral argument before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, appearances in federal courts around the country, legal arguments involving intricate constitutional issues, and coordination with senior government officials in the legislative and executive branches of the federal government.
